Long way out foundation
"Helping men rebuild their lives after prison through support, mentorship, and real opportunities."
My story
I couldn’t read or write properly growing up — I’ve had severe dyslexia my whole life, and I still struggle with spelling today. School wasn’t a place I thrived — I felt left behind, and by my teenage years, I turned to drugs, crime, and chaos.
From the ages of 15 to 25, my life spiraled into full-blown addiction and a criminal lifestyle. But since then, it’s been a slow, steady climb out. Through recovery programs, rehab, work experience, and pure grit, I’ve taught myself how to live again — how to get a job, keep a job, start businesses, and stay clean. It’s still a journey. I’m still growing.
But one thing that’s never left me is the voice of my dad. Before he passed, he always believed in me. He saw something in me when I couldn’t see anything in myself. And that’s what this foundation is about:
Believing in people before they can believe in themselves.
The Longway Foundation exists to walk alongside the ones who’ve been written off — and help them find a way forward.
